While the gameplay addition may be controversial for purists of the series, it was a welcomed addition to the game here on Co-Optimus. The Retro setting is accessed via the Options menu.Like it or not, Dead Space 3 has optional co-op play. Retro mode, unlike the name suggests, is merely a change in graphics quality of the game, nothing is altered from the stock gameplay. Unlike in Dead Space 2, saves are not restricted as all manual savings have been removed, instead dying on Hard Core forces the player to start the ENTIRE game over.Ĭlearing Hardcore Mode unlocks the Retro graphics setting. The player must begin a fresh game on Hard difficulty level. The Hardcore Mode of Dead Space 3 is vastly different from that of Dead Space 2. This mode has its difficulty level set to Hard. It is a play style that emphasizes on resource management. Ammo, med kits, etc.must be crafted at the Bench with available Resources. In Pure Survival mode, enemies do not drop supplies. The skill level for Classic is set to Hard.įinishing this mode unlocks the Devil Horns. This mode also features 'classic aiming' and a reduced number of inventory slots to begin with, which increases as the player acquires new RIG suits. ![]() The player is restricted to building only weapons available in previous games from blueprints. In Classic Mode, co-op play is removed, crafting is also unavailable. This allows you to start a new game with all of the inventory, weapons and suits from a previous save, this can be played at any normal difficulty level.
